The Game Boy Player is that thingie that I special-ordered from Japan (in Platinum!) to attach to my GameCube so that I might play GBA games on my big-screen television. It’s special because it is a hardware emulator, not a software emulator. Also, you can play GBA games using the GameCube controller! Hooray!
Because it and the GameCube together are enormous and silver, my living room guests are often tricked into thinking I own a Panasonic Q (don’t I wish!).
I was never too, too impressed with the way my GBA games look on the television, but herein, gamers purport that Advance Wars and Gunstar Heroes each look fantastic on the tee-vee. I am skeptical.
So: Fact or fiction? What experiences have you had with the Game Boy Player?
